Student Leadership Luncheon with the Archbishop

On Tuesday 27 April we attended a student leadership luncheon with Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP at St Mary’s Cathedral House. In celebrating the 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia, the Archbishop and the leaders from other Catholic schools discussed various topics under the theme ‘Standing on the shoulders of missionaries; where to from here?’

This was an amazing opportunity that allowed us to express our voices and speak on behalf of the young Church on the topics of life, community, vocation and faith. At this event, we were able to collaborate with other students discussing the concerns and issues regarding youth and the future of the Church in Australia and worldwide. The Archbishop encouraged us all to continue to nurture our leadership skills after school in order to strengthen our faith and spread the love of God.

Joining together with the Archbishop was truly inspiring as it allowed us to pose questions and thoughts directly to His Grace. In return Archbishop Fisher gave us with advice and guidance on how we can be more connected with God by providing us with authentic ways that we can continue to spread the Word of God in our schools and in our daily lives.
